He will not play in the ReliaQuest Bowl when No. 13 LSU faces Wisconsin on New Year's Day.
On his 23rd birthday, the Heisman Trophy winner thanked the fans and said he feels better about the state of the program with the quarterback moving forward. That quarterback will likely be Garrett Nussmeier.
In his second season in Baton Rouge, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound California native threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He also ran for 1,134 yards and another 10 touchdowns.
